Take the lead in your certification journey

NACM’s six-level Professional Certification Program serves as a steppingstone in a credit professionals’ path to certification and outstanding leadership in their field.

New journeys can be intimidating, no matter how prepared you are. However, by staying focused and determined, you can accomplish any goal. NACM’s six-level Professional Certification Program serves as a steppingstone in a credit professionals’ path to certification and outstanding leadership in their field.

Lois Davis, CBA, accounts receivable associate at Kingspan Insulated Panels, Inc. (Deland, FL), recently earned her Credit Business Associate (CBA). “I wanted to increase my qualifications for more advanced career opportunities that may arise with my current employer,” she said. “Also, to acquire new knowledge and skills and to enhance the knowledge and skills I already have.”

Davis recalls her designation journey as an ongoing process of learning and development. In fact, she is currently enrolled in the CBF program. “In the several years I’ve worked in AR/AP/collections, I’d never taken an accounting class, which presented a challenge when pursuing my certification,” she said. “I’ve learned a lot, which contributed to my current success.”

After earning her CBA, Davis gained a deeper understanding of credit processes, financial management and the impact of credit decisions in businesses. “It has been a chance to discover more about how credit works in real-life scenarios and what kind of financial decision-making skills are important in business,” she said. “I know there is more to learn and understand and I’m looking forward to accomplishing further knowledge of my career choice in credit.”

💡Study Tips: Take good notes, record sessions and ask questions to retain information. “Find a study partner from the class to go over the sessions and notes in detail,” Davis said.
