Distinguish yourself in credit with the CICP

Earning a professional certification is a transformative opportunity for credit professionals worldwide, leading to dynamic career shifts. NACM and FCIB’s six-level Professional Certification Program does just that by enhancing a credit professional’s abilities and deepening their understanding of the field.
Kirsty Gray, CICP, global credit manager at Active Apparel (Eagle Farm, Australia), pursued her Certified International Credit Professional (CICP) designation to build credibility in her new role in global trade credit. “The CICP designation looked like the perfect fit to gather knowledge and practical skills in a relatively short amount of time,” Gray said.
To earn her CICP, Gray was required to complete the International Credit & Risk Management (ICRM) online course. “The course built on my prior knowledge and experience and added an international perspective and specialty practices,” Gray said. “It has given me confidence in knowing what else to consider when dealing with a new customer or region.”
Upon achieving her CICP, Gray stated she will apply newfound knowledge to her new position. “I wanted to achieve this goal, not only to proudly earn this accreditation, but also to know I have gained knowledge and understanding to help me and my employer achieve better outcomes in managing global credit risk,” Gray said.
✏️Study Tips: Do your best to stay on schedule in the ICRM course. Whether that’s making an agenda, study schedule or simply following each module. To better retain information, join in the review sessions and retake module quizzes. “Since I’m based in Australia, I take advantage of the resources and networking opportunities FCIB provides to expand my insights around global best practice,” Gray said.
