Certification journey takes perseverance and commitment

Earning a designation through one of NACM and FCIB’s Professional Certification Programs takes perseverance and dedication. It allows professionals to commit to deepening their understanding of business credit and best practices. For Vimal Patel, CCE, director of credit at OneSource Distributers (Temecula, CA), earning his Certified Credit Executive (CCE) designation was an opportunity to challenge himself to learn more about the credit profession and refine his skills.
“I wanted to earn the CCE designation to enhance my professional credibility and demonstrate my commitment to excellence in the field of credit management,” Patel said. “It was also a personal goal to challenge myself and expand my knowledge.”
Completing the certification program allowed Patel to gain a deeper understanding of credit management and the best practices, while also teaching him the importance of perseverance and time management. While the journey took time and dedication, Patel was able to strike a delicate balance with his other responsibilities. “The journey was both challenging and rewarding,” Patel said. “Balancing work, study and personal life was a significant challenge, but the support from my colleagues and family made it manageable. The sense of accomplishment after passing each exam was incredibly motivating.”
Now, Patel feels accomplished having earned his CCE designation, making all the extra time spent carefully dividing time between work, homework and personal time worth it. “It feels fantastic!” Patel said. “Achieving the CCE designation is a testament to my hard work and dedication. It has given me a great sense of pride and confidence in my professional abilities.”
Study tip: “Create a structured study schedule, break down the material into manageable sections and stay consistent with your study routine,” Patel said. “To avoid feeling overwhelmed, take regular breaks and don’t hesitate to seek support from peers or mentors.”
