Member Spotlight: Emerging Leader

There are specific qualities that come to mind when it comes to leadership. Vision. Confidence. Strength. Independence. Ownership. But what makes one a leader? And what makes them memorable? That is why NACM created the Emerging Leader Award. The Emerging Leader Award is awarded to those with vision, strength of purpose, intellect, energy, ethics, a commitment to serve and a determination to persevere for the greater good of the organization.

But that's not all. Recipients must have shared their vision, inspired with their force of purpose and astounded others with their insights. Much like Matt Mezger, CCRA, CBA, credit team lead at Uline (Pleasant Prairie, WI), this year's recipient of the Emerging Leader Award. "I was grateful when I was nominated," he said.

Mezger values education and views NACM as an excellent vehicle for that. In his daily work, he focuses on improving processes and developing the relationships around him. "After the award, I realized that what I'm doing is affecting more than just my team. It's impacting more people in the profession."
