“A great way to grow”: A professional designation boosts credit career

The world of business credit is vast and ever-changing, with innovations constantly reshaping the daily tasks of credit managers and markets shifting every day. In today’s economy, credit professionals must take the time to build and refine their skills to prepare themselves for the many varied credit dilemmas they may face each day.

The world of business credit is vast and ever-changing, with innovations constantly reshaping the daily tasks of credit managers and markets shifting every day. In today’s economy, credit professionals must take the time to build and refine their skills to prepare themselves for the many varied credit dilemmas they may face each day.

Earning a certification through one of NACM and FCIB’s Professional Certification Programs can help credit managers hone their skills by deepening their understanding of the foundations of business credit and beyond.

For Lucie Menšíková, CICP, senior credit analyst EMEA at Zebra Technologies Corporations Europe (Bourne End, Buckinghamshire), earning her Certified International Credit Professional (CICP) certification was an opportunity to grow in her credit career. “I wanted to boost my skills and credibility in credit management,” Menšíková said. “Plus, it seemed like a great way to grow professionally.”

The journey to earning a certification takes dedication, but the nights spent studying will be worth it when your new designation pushes your career forward. “It was a mix of ups and downs, juggling study and work was tough, but passing the exams felt amazing,” said Menšíková. “Connecting with other professionals and instructors was the best part of the experience.”

Study tip: While focusing on your studying, it is important to always keep a healthy mindset. “Keep things organized, set achievable goals and take breaks,” Menšíková said. “Staying positive and getting support from colleagues can really help manage stress.”
