Whether you have been in your current role for over a decade or if you are just starting out in the B2B credit industry, NACM’s Professional Certification Program can help you hone your skills and build confidence.
April Margwarth, CBA, accounting manager at AAON (Tulsa, OK), was inspired to earn her Credit Business Associate (CBA) certification after attending Credit Congress. With her company’s recent realignment, credit and collections reporting responsibilities changed within her team. Margwarth felt continued education would help her through this transition.
From attending the courses to studying for exams, the designation process immersed Margwarth in the complicated and exciting credit world. The certification process meant more responsibility, but Margwarth carefully managed her time throughout. “I allocated 29 weeks preparation for the exam,” she said. “The challenge was staying focused and disciplined to complete the modules, practice exams and reviews.”
Despite the challenges that the designation process brought, it all paid off in the end when Margwarth earned her first designation. “It is empowering to accomplish your goals and continue your professional development,” she said. “My 2025 goals include completing the CBF and/or CCRA certifications!”
📝Study Tip: “Create a schedule noting the course/module you are going to complete each week, so you are ready for the exam,” Margwarth said. “The schedule must be realistic and not a cram session. Stay with it. If you get behind, then spend the additional time getting back on track.”
