Nourish your knowledge, empower your career

Nicole Anderson, CBA, credit account specialist II at Apogee (Owatonna, MN), earned her Credit Business Associate (CBA) designation due to her passion for learning. “I knew the CBA would help me improve in my role as a collector,” she said. “It shows I’m willing to invest the time and effort to become a better, more valuable employee.”

The well-known saying tells us that knowledge is power. The more we learn, the more we can understand and apply in our daily lives. With NACM’s six-level Professional Certification Program, credit professionals are able to nourish their minds with fundamental credit knowledge, helping them succeed in the B2B credit field.

Anderson gained a deeper understanding of financial statement analysis through the program. “I learned an easier way to record debits and credits,” she explained. “Now, when an account decreases or increases, I know exactly which side the amounts should go on and what kind of balance the account has.”

💡Study tips: Watch YouTube videos on areas where you’re not as confident.“The videos helped refresh my memory on familiar topics and learn new ones,” she said. “I believe everyone learns differently, and sometimes hearing or seeing something from different viewpoints is all it takes to fully understand a concept.”

Anderson added that taking the courses online made her certification more manageable. “The flexibility to complete the classes around work and other commitments at my own pace was invaluable,” she said. “This helped me balance all areas of my life. It also allowed me to complete everything in a shorter amount of time.”
