Member Spotlight: Illuminating Success Through B2B Credit Education

Nadina Anidawehi, CBA, full-service operations manager at Handle, Inc. (San Francisco, CA), recently earned her CBA to expand her knowledge, despite having years of experience in the credit industry with a focus on construction and some on real estate. “I felt that obtaining the CBA designation was a good way to broaden my understanding beyond just what I already knew about construction,” she said.

NACM’s six-level Professional Certification Program provides credit professionals with the tools to enhance their skills and deepen their knowledge, guiding them toward their highest level of success. The Credit Business Associate (CBA) designation, in particular, enables credit professionals to master three business-credit related disciplines: Basic Financial Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis 1 and Business Credit Principles.

Completing two of the courses online was convenient for Anidawehi because she could study at her own pace and fit them into her schedule. “This flexibility was a huge benefit, allowing me to balance work, personal life and study commitments,” she said. “It also challenged me because I had to stay disciplined and make sure I kept up with the material.”

Anidawehi gained more detailed knowledge about credit, particularly UCC filings and related areas that she hadn’t explored much before. “On a personal level, I learned to trust myself and my abilities more,” she said. “Initially, I was doubtful about passing the CBA exam, but I ended up succeeding. This experience taught me to have more confidence in my instincts.”

💡Study Tips: Stay organized and do not procrastinate. This means doing your homework in advance, so you have time to review it. “I found it very helpful to print out course materials, handouts and guides and keep them in a notebook,” said Anidawehi. “This way, I could take notes, highlight important information and use the notebook for final exam preparation.”
