Earning NACM’s Credit Business Associate (CBA) designation is a key milestone in your credit career journey, reflecting a strong commitment to learning the ins and outs of credit management whilst aiding your own professional growth.

This week’s member spotlight highlights Tracy Mitchell, CBA, director of accounts receivable at Trinity Logistics (Seaford, DE).

NACM’s Professional Certification Program allows you to expand on your understanding of business credit while deepening your understanding of unique facets of the diverse field. For Mitchell, the journey to earning her CBA helped her gain more confidence in the profession, challenging herself to learn more about the industry.

“Going through the classes and sitting for the exam really reminded me how important it is for you to believe in yourself,” Mitchell said. “Be confident in what you know and embrace the opportunity to learn what you don’t.”

The CBA designation not only improves upon your knowledge of business credit and financial principles but instills a newfound confidence when tackling complicated credit problems.

“Achieving the CBA designation has added an extra layer of confidence to my decision making and interactions within my company as well as with peers in credit,” Mitchell said. “It’s a great feeling to go from just your name on a nametag to seeing those three letters following it.”

💡Study Tip: “Having study time blocked on my calendar every week was key.”
