Member Spotlight: Ascend to Greatness
In the world of credit, confidence and proficiency are key. Achieving certifications through NACM’s six-level Professional Certification Program enables credit professionals to enhance their expertise and skills, empowering them to reach their highest potential.
The Credit Business Associate (CBA) designation enables credit professionals to master three business-credit related disciplines: Basic Financial Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis 1 and Business Credit Principles.
Recent CBA designee, Darcy Ma, CBA, senior credit analyst at BlackHawk Network (Seattle, WA), was inspired by NACM to earn his CBA. “I’ve been in credit for a few years now and I’ve grown to have an immense respect for how NACM has contributed to the B2B credit world and the number of credit professionals it helped develop,” he said. “Earning my CBA was a great opportunity to develop myself professionally and be able to be a part of that legacy.”
The CBA challenged Ma’s knowledge on credit policy and credit law. “Understanding the policies and the legal system will impact the way that I assess credit risk,” he said.
💡Study Tips: Make review packages to consolidate information. “Ultimately, being able to utilize your time efficiently is a great place to start. I also relearned some study habits and patterns after being out of college for almost a year now.”
Prepare as far in advance as possible. “Since I was juggling full-time work and course work, my employers were flexible with my schedule and allowed me to utilize all of NACM’s resources such as attending the review session in person at Credit Congress.”
