Be the credit hero of your story

NACM’s and FCIB’s six-level Professional Certification Programs does its part in shaping the credit professionals’ story, providing them all the knowledge and tools needed to conquer their challenges like a hero uses their superpowers to defeat their enemies.

Everyone loves a success story. Watching the hero of your favorite film or book overcome challenges can inspire you to keep going. The same can be said of credit professionals who face numerous challenges every day. NACM’s and FCIB’s six-level Professional Certification Programs does its part in shaping the credit professionals’ story, providing them all the knowledge and tools needed to conquer their challenges like a hero uses their superpowers to defeat their enemies.

One credit hero, Courtney Howard, CBA, credit and collections coordinator at Ben E. Keith Company (North Little Rock, AR), earned her Credit Business Associate (CBA) to demonstrate and gain knowledge in core business principles and enhance her career prospects. “My CBA showcases my ability to contribute effectively across different business functions,” she said. “I am also hoping that having my CBA designation will lead to better career opportunities.”

As a newer credit professional, Howard learned more about credit than she imagined. “I have worked in the credit department at a food distribution center for three years now, but I have never had to do anything with financial statements such as balance sheets, income and cash flow statements,” she said. “Learning about these was intriguing and showed me there is always more to learn.”

No matter how difficult it got at times, this mother of two managed to juggle her full-time job with study time quite effectively. “I feel extremely proud to have accomplished this,” Howard said. “I have been out of school for so long and I was extremely nervous to take this leap, but my husband really pushed me and allowed me to believe I could get it done.”

✏️Study Tips: Take advantage of the learning material provided but don’t be afraid to create some of your own, like flashcards customized to your liking. “Finding a balance between family, studying and fun helped keep me from getting overwhelmed,” Howard said.
