Member Spotlight: Determination, Drive and Designations

What better way to advance your professional skills and education in credit than to earn a designation? Designations are not just three letters at the end of your name. They show the dedication, time and commitment you put in to enhance your career.

NACM's Professional Certification Program not only gives credit professionals the opportunity to learn new skills, but also an opportunity to brush up on the basics. "Earning my Credit Business Associate (CBA) was a great experience for my professional career," said Madisyn Beyer, CBA, credit administrator at Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC (Fresno, CA). "I gained a lot of information on subjects that will help me excel and be successful during my career in the credit industry."

Beyer said one of the challenging parts for her was the anticipation leading up to the final exam. But once she passed, she felt a great sense of accomplishment. "For anyone looking to start their journey in earning a designation, my advice would be to never give up," Beyer said. "Some parts may get challenging, but the certificate hanging in your office at the end makes everything worth it."

The CBA isn't Beyer's last stop on her certification journey. She plans to earn her Certified Credit and Risk Analyst (CCRA), Credit Business Fellow (CBF) and Certified Credit Executive (CCE) in the coming months.
