NACM's Professional Certification Program gives credit professionals the tools they need to excel in their careers. Not only can credit professionals earn a designation, but those who go above and beyond are recognized for their dedication.
"Deciding to earn my CBA was a great step in learning more about the credit world and brought more depth to my job," said Lisa Clarkson, CBA, credit specialist at North Coast Electric Company (Medford, OR). "I really enjoyed the fact that I could learn at my own speed and on my own time."
Clarkson said some of the challenges she faced throughout the courses helped motivate her to learn more. "I've worked in accounting for several years and have a good grasp of bookkeeping, but LIFO and FIFO were a challenge for me," Clarkson added. "It is all the more rewarding to earn a CBA designation and it is a great personal accomplishment."
However, the CBA is not where the journey stops. Clarkson said she is currently working towards earning her CBF. Because of her legal experience and work in a few attorney's offices, Clarkson can apply what she has already learned. "So far, it is quite in-depth and interesting," she said. "If you wish to continue in the credit field, I believe that it behooves you to learn as much as you can. You never know where life is going to take you."
