I am going on my fourth week of the International Credit & Risk Management (ICRM) online course and I am slightly behind. Not only was I struggling with some aspects of the discussion posts but I also had a six-day family vacation in Puerto Rico. Luckily the instructor was very understanding and let me enjoy my trip while helping me with my questions about the material. That is the beauty of virtual learning!

Yesterday was my first day back at the office, so I was able to complete module 3, Financial Statement Analysis. The first discussion post challenged me given that we were assigned to groups with specific international companies to account for. The other two discussions posts were based on experience and the course material so I was able to work my way through those more easily.

My next challenge is to complete module 4 on Risk Mitigation by the end of the week. The module is said to cover some of the tools and strategies available to help credit professionals manage and mitigate those risks. Strategies range from payment terms to trade credit insurance. All in all, I'm hopeful that after this week I'll be fully caught up in the course.

For those who are curious about my trip, I got the opportunity to stroll through San Juan, explore Castillo San Felipe Del Morro, take a ride in a UTV around El Yunque, climb rocks at Playa Mar Chiquita, practice my diving skills at Crash Boat Beach/Aguadilla and take pictures by Coliseo De Puerto Rico.

Until next week…
