Employment in the residential construction industry remains stable, sitting at 3.9% this August, according to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Jobs increased by 201,000, and employment in residential construction continued to trend upward.

The number of unemployed persons decreased by a total of 46,000, yet the number of employed persons decreased by 423,000 for the month of August. Throughout the past few months, workers have been leaving the labor force (more than 692,000 persons) while less have been entering the workforce (down by about 469,000), which also contributed to these findings by the NAHB.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Establishment Survey, residential construction jobs rose by 12,900 in August. July saw a 6,800 increase from the previous month, setting August at almost a 100% increase compared to July.
