Hurricane season continues, with ports and businesses taking note of the weather patterns affecting projects and shipment deliveries. Tropical Storm Dorian remains a threat for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with all maritime ports in the area set for Port Condition Zulu as of Aug. 28, according to a recent article in Supply Chain Dive. Gale force winds are set to endanger the ports within 12 hours, and they will be closed inbound and outbound to commercial vessel traffic until Dorian leaves.
President Donald Trump has signed an emergency declaration for Puerto Rico in anticipation of the storm. Winds are predicted to reach 60 mph with the possibility of 10 inches of rain. Florida may be impacted by the storm as well, depending on when the storm will lose steam.
