Member Spotlight: Make an Impact with Designations

NACM's Professional Certification Program helps credit professionals advance in their career through the earning of a designation. It is through this certification program that credit professionals can become well-rounded with a variety of skills and make a positive impact in their company.

Jennifer Goetz, CCE, finance manager, customer receivables management at Johnson & Johnson, Inc. (Tampa, FL) has already made an impact after receiving her Certified Credit Executive (CCE) designation. "The CCE provided me industry-wide recognition and content applicable to my daily work. It also provided the opportunity to become more involved in the credit and collections community."

Goetz' designation journey started long before taking the course. "Since the first day in credit, I've had experiences and lessons contributing to the knowledge needed for the CCE," she said. Her greatest challenge was making sure she prioritized study time. "The months leading up to the CCE exam reminded me how it was to study and prep for tests."

Most importantly, the CCE reaffirmed the value of being part of a community of advancement sponsors. While earning her certification, Goetz received support from a few key sponsors who frequently checked her progress. "Special thanks to fellow CCE holders, Aidan Russell and Paul Denk and soon to be CBA holder, Brandon Miller," she said. "As for credit, the CCE increased my knowledge on bankruptcy."

Not only does she feel great about her accomplishment but encourages others to earn their designations. "I appreciate the opportunity to contribute and encourage all considering the CCE to just go for it," Goetz said.
