The under-construction Las Vegas Stadium is facing another hiccup. While the project continues to power through steel work, with substantial completion just weeks away, the future home of the Oakland Raiders is facing a lawsuit.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a subcontractor filed suit claiming it's owed $2.8 million. Las Vegas Stadium Company Chief Operating Officer Don Webb said in the article that ADP International has a dispute with Merrill Iron & Steel and not with general contractor Mortenson-McCarthy, the Stadium Authority, or others named in the suit.

"This is a lawsuit concerning a dispute over payments claimed to be owed by a second-tier subcontractor to third-tier supplier," said Webb. "It does not involve any claims concerning payments made or owed by the Raiders, StadCo or the Stadium Authority."

The unpaid work by ADP has already been competed, so it will not have an impact on the soon-to-be completed steel work. Due to the setup of contracts on the project, funds and public money are not "in jeopardy," said Webb.

In March, Merrill Steel recorded a mechanic's lien against Mortenson-McCarthy for nonpayment.
